【Agriculture】
　　Agriculture in Wuci Township is chief in rice, vegetables and orchids. The rice planting areas cover Nanjien Neighborhood, Fude Neighborhood, Dazhuan Neighborhood, Dacun Neighborhood, Hsinnong Neighborhood, Yungnin Neighborhood and Yungan Neighborhood with a total area of 600 hectares. Vegetables are chief in leaf vegetables. Orchid planting in Wuci has its own features and has established a production/sales unit to make orchid cultivation more professional and high-tech. The production/sales unit has ranked in one of the 100 largest flower production/sales units in Taiwan.

【Fishery】
　　To develop the fisheries in Central Taiwan, in 1980, Central Government invested more than 850 million NT Dollars to build Wuci Fishing Harbor, which was completed and opened in May, 1984.

　　Wuci Fishing Harbor is one of the biggest fishing harbors in Central Taiwan, with a 27-hectare water area and 2.4-hectare land area, the fishing harbor can accommodate 245 boats under 50 tons.

　　When Wuch Fishing Harbor was open initially, bounded by Commercial Harbor Law, all fishing boats had to be checked before they left and after they returned. The inconvenience led to the slow development of the fishing harbor. When the check was no longer enforced in 1989, with the public facilities for the fishing harbor under constrction, Fisheries Bureau, Taiwan Provincial Government handed Wuci Fishing Harbor under the administration of Taichung Harbor to meet social needs and to develop Wuci Fishing Harbor in production, leisure and tourism.

　　There are fish auction sites, activity center for fishermen, holiday fish market, fish sales section, fishing ware warehouse, visitors’ rest area, a fishery leisure park and information center in Wuci Fishing Harbor. Besides fresh and dries fish are for sale, there are also many different kinds of delicious snacks in the harbor.

　　The used to be not many local fishing boats in the fishing harbor. However, after the holiday fishing market and fish direct sales center were established and the fishermen could sell fishes in the harbor to make more money, fishermen from Taitung and Penghu moved into Wuci. Currently, there are more than 50 fishing boats less than 50 tons registered in Wuci Fishing Harbor. The integrated planning for Wuci Fishing Harbor has been completed. The Hospitality Center for Fishermen is under construction for the arrival of direct trade on the both sides of Taiwan Strait.

　　Now, Wuci Fishing Harbor has become a tourist harbor with much potential.

【Animal Husbandry】
　　Wuci is a city-like township with a dense population. Because animal husbandry would produce pollution, there only exist small-scale pig farm, duck farm and chicken farm. Recently, to cope with the impacts on the animal husbandry due to Taiwan’s entering WTO, Central Government, on one hand asked that animal keepers purchase pollution prevention equipments to reduce the pollution to the environment and on the other hand, helped farms with economic scale to improve the animal keeping techniques and to eradicate those that couldn’t compete to make animal husbandry industry in Taiwan, facing the international new challenges, re-start.
